Giancarlo StantonGiancarlo Stanton is an American professional baseball outfielder for the New York Yankees. Drafted out of high school by the Miami Marlins in 2007, Stanton made his major league debut on June 8, 2010 and quickly became one of the MLB’s most powerful hitters. In 2017, Stanton had a historic 59 home run season and was named the National League’s Most Valuable Player. After the 2017 season, he was traded to the Yankees.
The four-time MLB All-Star has a personal connection to the foundation. In September of 2014, Stanton was treated at Spodak Dental Group for severe dental damage as a result from being hit by a pitch. During the countless hours in the dentist chair with Dr. Craig Spodak, Stanton learned about the lack of basic dental care the children in our underserved communities face. This struck home with Stanton and he decided to join forces with Dr. Spodak to combat childhood tooth decay and co-found the All-Star Smiles Foundation. |
